Wilbur Earl Pierce
Wilbur Earl Pierce, 71, of Springfield, passed away at 5:00 AM Thursday, January 31, 2008 in Mercy St. Johns Center.
He was born May 7, 1936 in Richwood, Ohio the son of Wilbur and Geneva (Loy) Pierce.
Earl attended the Wings of Love Church and enjoyed fishing, coaching baseball and working on cars. He had been employed as a custodian at Upper Arlington High School and had delivered coal.
Survivors include three children; Michael (Lorraine) Pierce, Springfield, Joy (Joseph) Parsley, Urbana, Pam (Jack) Parsley, Springfield, his ex wife Wanda Pierce, Columbus, three step children; Allan Simmons, Chillicothe, Lola Combs, Columbus, Leona Combs, Sacramento, California, 21 grand children, 27 great grand children, one sister Maxine (Lewis) Scott, Sparta, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Alyce R. Pierce, his parents, a brother Edward, sisters Georgia Locklear and Mary McPherson and step daughter Viola Yasin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday in the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
